Old is Gold

There is a saying that Old is Gold.Its applicable to Old music,Old movies,Old people etc., What about Old technology ? Is it Gold ? Is it worth enough to be retained ? Or should those be thrown out.Legacy systems are here to stay . You cannot replace them . The amount of data that goes in and goes out from the system is huge,the security of the data in those system are excellent. Can the present servers handle that?? Are the new technology so secured ?Its a big question mark ?I have a huge faith on Mainframes and its capabilities. They are here to stay. Like it or not you cannot ignore it.
